  • Our Purpose

This blog is for us, the people of San Pablo and guests, to share information and concerns about our city, our government, our schools, our neighborhoods, our businesses, our religious centers, and any and all issues we deem important. It is also for us to ‘talk back’ to each other and government about the issues and questions that concern us. We commit to be respectful of each other. Interesting how little info in papers there is on RDAs when it such a drain on economy and so tied to other issues. Showed Tom at CCTimes maps showing city absolutely taking houses (including mine). Did he put it in his article? Nope. All big $$ tied to other big $$. How are owners of papers tied to RDA? Post here when they write something. I’ll be looking for it.

  2. INVITATION TO MORR MEETING IN ONTARIO
The attachment is an invitation for the May 1 (Saturday) Conference on Redevelopment Abuse held at the Ontario Marriott Airport. Redevelopment Agencies are State Agencies administered by cities and counties and threaten and take private property by Eminent Domain and give private property parcels to a developer or investor for their profit and gain. If you or someone you know is a teacher, librarian, director of parks, policeman or firefighter this is a conference you should attend, because you along with the public and private property owners are negatively impacted by the diversion of Property Taxes (Increments) directly sent to the General Funds of the Redevelopment Agencies.

The State of California back fills schools, because for 50 years this unknown government of redevelopment has diverted billions of dollars of property taxes (increments) away from not only schools, but from libraries, parks, police and fire protection. There are 425 Redevelopment Agencies and 756 Redevelopment Project Areas throughout the State that have created a $100 BILLION DOLLAR STATEWIDE DEBT AND INCREASING BY BILLIONS EACH AND EVERY YEAR. Newly elected Assemblyman Chris Norby (72nd District of Orange County) needs our help to return property taxes (increments) back to the people. He was elected to the Assembly in a Special Election in January and has been teaching and conducting the Conferences on Redevelopment Abuse for many years. If you have any questions, please contact me. If you want to see how many Redevelopment Project Areas are in your city or county and how much money is diverted from your services, call the controllers office (916-327-8905 – cost $30) and have them mail you a copy or go by and pick up a copy of the “State of California Community Redevelopment Agencies Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2007/08”. The books are on line, but are 684 pages and not easy to go back and forth. These reports are usually two years behind. Thank you and please educate others by forwarding my message. Karen Klinger

Good work, Marilynne. Sent a letter to Bruce Whitaker, district director for Norby and referred by David Kruckenberg. Will post soon. Unfortunately,Norby’s meeting was at same time as ours, but Martinez said they will post video. Sorry to miss him. Read ‘Redevelopment: Unknown Government’ long ago and it was an eye-opener.
All time is spent reading reports, writing. Fliers not getting out. If you know anyone that can help call Olivia @ 510=375-2007. Also need help with blog…how to arrange info so people can get to it easily.
Anyway, keep up the good work. This thing is far from over.
